Chapter 1: The end of an era

This is the first Zelda fanfiction that I have ever posted on the web. I am so nervous! I hope that I won’t disappoint any fans with anything I write and if I do I apologize before hand. I also warn you that I write at strange intervals. I may post two chapters in one day but then not again for weeks. I would love to hear any comments you have on this fanfiction. You can e-mail me at wirdogal@yahoo.com. Thank you!

May the goddesses be with you happy.gif

The hero of time and the king of evil fought on a legendary battlefield of darkness and fire. Their swords clanging together echoed throughout the lands of Hyrule as well as their fierce battle cries. It was a clash of good against evil that would decide the fate of Hyrule. The dark stones that were once part of a mighty structure lay strewn among the battlefield stained in blood. Both opponents were showcasing ghastly wounds and breathing heavily, still neither stood down for an instant. Zelda observed from the sidelines, petrified in silent horror as she watched the battle before her unfolded. Ganon raised a towering blade and brought it down faster then the worn hero could react. Fresh blood soaked his tunic as the steel cut through his chest. Link sank to his knees clutching the wound as Ganon threw his head back in thunderous laughter. Link rose his head gritting his teeth in pain, blood dripping from his golden bangs. He stood slowly gripping the master sword as it began to glow with a hidden power. With his last bit of strength Link charged the evil king. He leapt above him; the sword gripped with both hands and in a great flash of magic ran it through the evil mans skull. The reign of the king of evil was over.

Zelda ran out onto the battlefield just as Link collapsed in a pool of his own blood. She rushed to his side, tears streaming down her face and lifted his head from the stone.

“Link” she choked “please, say something!”

Link flinched in pain before slowly opening his eyes “is it over?”

“Yes” Zelda said in a joyous voice that she had forgotten she possessed.

Link strained his neck to watch the clouds above them start to slowly dissolve. A line of blood trailed from his pale lips and his breath came in labored gasps. “Finally” he said as he released the master sword that clattered to the ground.

Zelda pulled him close to her “Link hang on please!” He coughed up blood and clenched his eyes shut in pain.

He could feel his strength ebbing away “I’m sorry… Zelda.”

“No Link don’t die” she yelled out as he became limp in her arms.

It was too late… he was gone.

Above the now clear blue sky three people looked down upon the tragic scene. They were the golden goddesses that had created Hyrule, Din, Naru, and Faroe. The three sisters stood before a large basin that they used to gaze into the world they had made without actually setting foot there.

“Everything had gone according to plan,” said Din as she waved a hand over the basin causing it to return to rippling water.

Naru nodded “yes but it is still so sad, poor Zelda.”

Faroe smacked her sister in the back of the head “they could have never been together anyway, she’s a princess!”

Naru stuck out her bottom lip as she rubbed her scalp “I knew that, you don’t have to be so mean.”

“Sissy” Faroe spit back and Naru broke into tears “I am not a Sissy!”

Din stormed around and grabbed them both by the ears “stop it you two!”

“Aww leggo” Faroe screamed and Din released them her face stern with reason.

“He’ll be here any moment and all you two can do is bicker amongst yourselves, honestly!”

Drying her tears Naru nodded “that’s right we have to go welcome Link to the heavens!”

Koroks Rock says:

Interesting premise. Be sure to make it so that any time soneone different speaks, they get their own paragraph. Quotes never go beside one another, so to speak.

star_breaker says:

Great start to an excellent story. I'm loving your vivid description and the way you make the godesses fight, because I've always assumed they're really holy and good. Awesome! l;n_n.gif

Good story, and written well enough, though you should definately take Koroks Rock's advice.
